SRJ Windows continued its support of supporting charity over Christmas. Our team donated £400 to Children’s Hospices Across Scotland (CHAS). This donation will ensure the charity can continue their good work in supporting local children and the local community.

This donation was the second SRJ made to the charity in 2020, after raising £235 during January and February. On why SRJ chose to donate to CHAS in 2020, SRJ managing director Stephen Macintosh said back in March: “CHAS do an amazing job, and with one of their care hospices being local to us, they do a fantastic job of caring for those in need of help.”

CHAS helps to care for children and families across Scotland. They currently have two hospices, Robin House and Rachel House, which is located in Kinross near to SRJ’s Rosyth showroom. The Rachel House facilities offer children and families a ‘home from home’, with their facilities such as a hydrotherapy room, large accessible garden, and providing lots of areas for relaxing and fun. Both locations also give families moments of reflection, bereavement support and general care.

SRJ Continue Support of Children's Charity

The charity also provides support at the child’s home or in hospital. The services they provide include medical care, such as specialist care, or end of life support. For the children and families, they provide support to the parents, siblings and carers. This is delivered in the form of emotional support, such as spiritual counselling and bereavement care.

Connie Walker,  Support Care Coordinator, said this about our donation: “Many families worry that each Christmas will be their child’s last. Your gift ensures that these families get to spend the precious time that they have together in the best way possible. Your gift helps families to create memories that they can treasure forever, even when their child is gone… It’s because of you that families all across Scotland get to make the most of their time together over Christmas.”
