SRJ Windows has continued their commitment to supporting local charities in 2020! Through the in-house tea and coffee making facilities, SRJ has raised £235 during January and February for Children’s Hospices Across Scotland (CHAS). The team donated the money on Friday, March 20 to ensure the charity could continue their good work with supporting local children.

Managing director, Stephen Macintosh, said this on why the business chose the charity: “We decided that in 2020, staff were more than happy to donate a few pennies for every hot drink that is taken from our in-house coffee making facilities. The first charity that was chosen was CHAS. We donated to a lot of varied charities throughout 2019 and felt we had not managed to make a donation to CHAS for a long time.

“CHAS do an amazing job, and with one of their care hospices being local to us, they do a fantastic job of caring for those in need of help.”

CHAS cares for children across Scotland as well as their families. They currently have two hospices, Rachel House and Robin House, and provide support at the child’s home or in hospital. The services they provide can include medical care, such as specialist care or end of life support. For the children and families, they offer support to parents, carers and siblings. This comes through emotional support, such as spiritual, counselling and bereavement care.

Rachel House, which is located in Kinross near to SRJ’s Rosyth showroom, is a ‘home from home’. The hospice offers a range of facilities, such as a hydrotherapy room, large accessible garden, as well as providing lots of areas for relaxing and fun. These areas can also provide moments of reflection, bereavement support and general care.
