Casement windows are a popular choice for homeowners due to their functionality and aesthetic appeal. These windows are hinged on one side and open outward, providing excellent ventilation and easy operation. If you have recently installed casement windows in your home or are considering them for your next home improvement project, it’s important to know how to operate them properly. In this guide, we will walk you through the steps of operating casement windows and provide some additional information about these windows.
Our casement windows feature a button key lock. To open your windows, push the button lock inwards and lift the handle upwards to 90 degrees.
To allow for partial ventilation by locking the window in a partially open position, open the sash 1/2 and pull the handle back down. This will engage the locking mechanism and maintain a degree of security while ventilating.
To adjust the window position, simply stop cranking when the window is at your desired angle. You can leave it partially open for a gentle breeze or fully open for maximum ventilation.
Open the window fully, using both hands and pull the sash towards the lock side of the window. This allows for full access and ease of cleaning. To close, simply push the sash back using both hands and pull the windows towards you.
